Moab Ride - SO MUCH FUN!!

We had such a great time on this little trip.  Monday we had Clair & Ilene, Richard & Cheryl, Lynn & Villa, Lynn & Jule, Jeff & Karen.  Tuesday and Wednesday Larry & Shari, and Gil & Marylu joined us.  Clair sums up our fun, laughs, rides and good times with the following:

"We started at Onion Creek, crossing it 30+ times
Ended at Fins & Things, with some very steep climbs.
Yes the Trail-riders came, they rode, conquered and giggled.
We went up, down and over, we bounced and we jiggled.
With this group, riding is only half of the fun.
Eating, laughing, chatting, well, that's what we done.
Who could forget eating super-Mex, not once but twice.
Not to mention prime rib that was, well, not too nice.
There was an incident that none will soon forget
One of the funniest things that has happened yet.
Yes it was Larry having to duct tape things together
Having to protect himself from us, the sun and the weather.
He was a good sport, but knows that as the years are gone
He will be reminded over and over, yes, on and on.
When Brenchley's machine refused to fire
Lynn fixed it just by wiggling a wire.
Nice to know that when we think we are stuck
We got Lynn, don't need no stinkin' tow truck.
Moab is fun, RZR's are great, they run and run
But it is the people who make it so much fun.
Four new friends were added to our group this time
Making each day seem even more sublime.
To each of you, thanks for the laughs and the fun
Can't wait to meet, greet and take off on a brand new run!!!!!
And don't forget!
If you want to have a thrill, climb a big hill,
without taking a spill,
Who will lead us?  GIL WILL!!!!"

(The following photos and video clips are mine (Karen).  We all would like to see more photos and videos of our Moab adventure.  Send yours to me via email or text, along with your comments, and I'll upload them to our blog.)

 Onion Creek Road
Here we are at the beginning of our adventure on Monday afternoon.

We crossed the creek 33 times, according to Ilene's count.

Kokopelli Trail
This was our second ride on Monday.  Here we explored an old mining camp.

Keeping this rowdy group in order is pretty tough, but somebody's got to do it!

There were several old mines to explore.

Interesting rock formations, caves and an arch to see along the way.

Gemini Bridges
Our first ride on Tuesday morning took us to some awesome bridges.
We got our first view from on top looking down.

(I'm sorry that somehow I missed getting a photo of Larry & Shari and Richard & Cheryl here........but wait, Ilene saved the day and submitted the following 2 photos to complete our group.)

The brave ones climbed up for a better view.

Bull Canyon
We then rode up this canyon to get a different view of the bridges.
The cactus were in bloom and beautiful.

Here we are viewing the bridges from below.

'Beauty' shot with wild flowers.

Larry had a little 'incident' involving his pants and some duct tape.  We teased him mercilessly, probably made up 30 jokes about the tape, the pants, the location, and laughed until our sides hurt.  Thanks Larry for being a good sport, and like Clair said, I don't think the jokes are over yet!

Mills and Merrimac Trail
Our second ride on Tuesday was a beautiful trail that took us past
Determination Towers.

(NOTE:  I had to upload the videos to YouTube and then transfer them to the blog to get a decent resolution.  The downside, is that after every clip, YouTube automatically adds additional random video choices to watch.  Hope there is nothing inappropriate that pops up!)

And then to Tusher Tunnel, where we walked through to the other side.
Some nice people offered to take our photo so we all could be included.

Another 'beauty' shot with more wild flowers.

One evening we were sitting in the motel lobby planning our future rides, when the receptionist offered to take a group photo.  I think someone felt like he needed more attention -haha!

Fins 'N' Things Trail
Wednesday was our most challenging and exciting ride.  The trail was like nothing we had
ever ridden on before.

Since the Brenchleys and Larsens were the only couples who had been to Moab, we chose and took the lead on all the rides until our last ride, which Gil and Marylu led.  This little clip shows our support of Gil's navigation and leadership skills.....GIL WILL!

A piece of cake!!!!

This clip shows what riding on the 'fins' is like.

Group photos at the end of a very memorable trip.  The weather was perfect, the scenery was awesome, the rides were exciting (and safe), and the company was the best!!
Happy trails until we meet again!!!
