Hole In The Rock Ride

Hole-In-The-Rock ride may best described in three words:
    timely, contrast, and enjoyable.

Timely: Our original ride dates were for later in the week; several of the
group had conflicts so we backed up and rescheduled for the 18th-21st. If we
had kept our original dates we would have been rained out. Funny how things
seem to work out.

Contrast: Our ride on Monday covered desolate desert, majestic red rocks,
and some amazing views of the Hole-In-The-Rock. Those Pioneer were
dedication and perseverance personified, with a deep faith in God. The next
day we experienced the high (and I mean HIGH) mountain tops with winding
roads where the trees were in full bloom with colors of gold, orange and
red, it was breathtaking.

Enjoyable: We are very thankful for our friendships with each of you. All of
you contributed to a wonderful experience and memories that are cherished.
Thanks to all of you for a great time. Big thank you to Larsen, Brenchley
and Cook for their help and support.

Skyline Drive - Brenchley's Cabin

Four of our couples, (Brenchleys, Englands, Phillips, Larsens),  were able to clear our calendars for a couple of days and had a great get-away, especially because of the hospitality of the Brenchleys.  Their cabin is nestled among aspen and wildflowers above Fairview and is the perfect setting to relax, socialize with good friends and set off for some fun rides.  Oh and in the evening we were introduced to what we think will be Richard's favorite card game, Pond Scum....(don't ask!)

Wide open spaces, beautiful sky and great friends, thanks for the ride and hospitality Brenchleys

Sometimes we felt like this sheep hot, tired, and lost  However, we had capable trail guides who kept their cool and found us shade and lead us back to the comforts of home in the thick of the forrest.

Diana says, "The last picture is Fred's hand after stopping at the car wash to clean the rzr.  He was climbing off the trailer with the wand in one hand and accidentally aimed it at his other hand for 1 second.  Needless to say we spent the next few hours in the hospital.  He just missed severing his tendon.  Very lucky!"  (We are so glad he didn't sever his tendon, and hope he mends quickly.  And, he'll have to steer with one hand for awhile, or Diana will have to take over the driving!!)
